My name is Karen Oliver and I first established KO Tourism in 2009. I live and work in the Macedon Ranges in Victoria and I'm passionate about supporting the sustainable growth of regional tourism.

I love working in the tourism industry and over the past 10 years, I've delivered a wide range of tourism development projects. I strongly believe that investing in the supply-side of the industry is critical to developing a sustainable visitor economy which benefits businesses, visitors and local communities.

My knowledge of tourism stems from 10+ years working on projects to support the Victorian tourism industry, extensive domestic and international travel, as well as previous roles in the Regional Marketing and research teams at Tourism Victoria.
Prior to starting KO Tourism, I worked for nearly 10 years in the market research industry. Past roles include working as a Consultant at a boutique market research agency, Market Analyst at Tourism Victoria and Senior Research Consultant and Brand Insights Manager at NAB. My background in market research gives all of my projects a strong analytical foundation.

With solid corporate and government experience, I draw on my knowledge from working in different sectors to support my clients in the tourism industry.

Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), Management, University of Melbourne

I have a strong commitment to ongoing professional development. I am a graduate of the Melbourne Tourism Leadership Program (2012), completed the inaugural Check-in to China Tourism Development Program (2016), including a study trip to China. I regularly attend industry conferences around Australia and was a guest speaker at the 2018 Victorian Visitor Services Summit.
